The Full Moon Party is a monthly open-air beach party under the full moon, famous worldwide among backpackers and party-lovers. It features multiple stages / sound systems, fire shows, UV-body paint, neon lights, DJs playing EDM / house / reggae / techno etc. The event starts after sunset (moonrise), gets busy late evening, and goes on until sunrise. For those staying in Koh Samui, many tour operators offer round-trip transfers + speedboats for the event so you can attend even if you’re based elsewhere. It’s very crowded, very energetic, and very late-night. Accommodation in and around Haad Rin books up fast.
